High Commission of Sri Lanka in Kuala Lumpur, successfully hosted a Business Networking Evening bringing together over 40 prominent business leaders and professionals on 15 August 2025. The event created a vibrant platform to strengthen business relations, explore trade synergies, and promote emerging investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.
Welcome the gathering, Mr. M. I.Mohamed Rizvi, Acting High Commissioner, highlighted the vast potential for economic engagement between Sri Lanka and Malaysia. He briefed participants on Sri Lanka’s evolving business landscape, emphasizing opportunities in sectors such as trade, investment, and services. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. V.K. Kanesan, representative of the Malaysia Sri Lanka Business Council (MSLBC), who underscored the importance of closer private sector cooperation to drive mutual growth and prosperity.
The event also highlighted the upcoming business delegation from the MSLBC, scheduled to visit Sri Lanka from 7 to 12 September 2025. During their visit, the delegation will engage with key institutions including the Board of Investment (BOI), Export Development Board (EDB), Colombo Port City, Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC), and the Sri Lanka-Malaysia Business Council (SLMBC), among others. The High Commission expressed appreciation to all participants for their valuable contributions toward fostering stronger economic collaboration and community partnerships between the two nations.
