The High Commission was pleased to welcome a delegation of Sri Lankan students from the University of Colombo and schools for the Asia World Model United Nations Conference at Berjaya Hotel, Malaysia, from 14 to 17 February 2025. This platform provides young leaders with opportunities to gain knowledge of the UN system, develop diplomatic skills, and expand global networks.

Acting High Commissioner Mr. M.I. Mohamed delivered a keynote speech at the forum on “The Role of a Diplomat in Today’s Global Landscape,” highlighting the evolving responsibilities of diplomats in modern international relations.

The student delegation also visited the High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, where they received a briefing by High Commission staff on the functions of a diplomatic Mission, diplomatic protocols, and the vital role Missions play in serving Sri Lankans abroad while advancing Sri Lanka’s interests.

The High Commission remains committed to engaging with youth and fostering leadership in international diplomacy.
