The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, officially commenced work for 2025 with a special programme. The event highlighted the staff’s commitment to public service and the “Clean Sri Lanka” initiative. The programme began with the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag by Acting High Commissioner Mohamed Rizvi, followed by the National Anthem and a two-minute silence to honor the nation’s heroes. The traditional oil lamp was lit by staff members, and they collectively took the “Oath of Public Servants,” pledging to uphold unity, accountability, frugality, transparency, and equality in line with the “Clean Sri Lanka” policy.
The Acting High Commissioner Mohamed Rizvi extended best wishes and emphasized the importance of accountability and dedication in public service. He called for efficient service delivery to Sri Lankans residing in Malaysia and fostering stronger ties with the public.
The event concluded with a sharing of traditional Sri Lankan delicacies, including milk rice – kiribath and other Sri Lankan dishes, creating a warm and engaging atmosphere. This interaction strengthened the connection between the High Commission and the community it serves, reaffirming its dedication to sustainable practices and high-quality service as part of the “Clean Sri Lanka” initiative.
