The High Commissioner-designate of Malaysia to Sri Lanka, Mr. Tan Yang Thai called on The Most Venerable Datuk Dr. Kirinde Sri Dhammaratana Maha Nayaka Thero, The Chief High Priest of Buddhist Maha Vihara, Brickfield and Most Venerable Bhante Saranankara Nayaka Thero, Chief Incumbent of the Sri Lanka Buddhist Temple, Sentul on Wednesday, 18th July 2018. The Most Venerable Datuk Dr. Kirinde Sri Dhammaratana Maha Nayaka Thero while appreciating the courtesy call by the High Commission-designate recalled the long-standing friendship and cultural ties between Malaysia and Sri Lanka. The High Commissioner-designate Mr. Tan Yang Thai while thanking Mahanayaka Thero recalled that he will promote closer ties between the two countries.
The Most Venerable Bhante Saranankara Nayaka Thero recalled the 60 years of Diplomatic Relations between Sri Lanka and Malaysia and also the vibrant cultural ties between the two countries. Welcoming the High Commissioner-designate recalled the long-standing relationship between the two countries and wish him every success in his future endeavours. High Commissioner-designate also thank Most Venerable Bhante Saranankara Nayaka Thero and reiterated his commitment to future enhance the ties of the two countries. His Excellency A. J. M. Muzammil, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka accompanied the High Commissioner-designate visit to the Temples and also hosted a farewell dinner at his official residence.
