His Excellency Air Chief Marshal (Rtd.) Sumanagala Dias, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Malaysia, officially concluded his distinguished tour of duty on 1st December 2024. During his tenure, H.E. Dias made significant contributions to strengthening the bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Malaysia, earning appreciation and respect from the both governments, business leaders and wider community.

As part of his farewell engagements, H.E. Dias had notable engagements at Wisma Putra, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia. These included farewell calls on Dato Ahmad Rozian bin Abd. Ghani, Deputy Secretary General (Bilateral), and Ambassador Dato’ Dr. Shazelina Zainul Abidin, Undersecretary for South Asia and Central Asia Division. During these farewell calls, Wisma Putra expressed its profound appreciation for H.E. Dias’s efforts in fostering closer cooperations and mutual benefits for the two nations.

Additionally, the Malaysian business community, industry leaders, members of the Sri Lankan community, and the staff members of the High Commission also organized separate farewell gatherings in the honor of H.E. Dias. These events celebrated his leadership and invaluable contributions to enhancing the visibility and effectiveness of the Mission.

As H.E. Dias departs, he carries with him the best wishes of his colleagues, partners, and the community for his future endeavors.
