The Acting High Commissioner Mr. M.I. Mohamed Rizvi, paid a courtesy call on His Royal Highness Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, the Crown Prince of Selangor.
During the cordial meeting, the Acting High Commissioner briefed His Royal Highness on Sri Lanka’s political stability, ongoing economic recovery, and the strengthening of its foreign exchange reserves. He further highlighted the rapid growth of the tourism sector, which has become a key driver of the country’s economic revitalization.
The Acting High Commissioner extended a warm invitation to His Royal Highness and members of the Selangor Royal Family to visit Sri Lanka, together with Malaysian investors, to explore its natural beauty, cultural heritage, and diverse investment opportunities. Special emphasis was placed on the Colombo Port City as a transformative hub for regional investment and development.
Selangor is recognized as the economic powerhouse of Malaysia, contributing approximately 25% of the national GDP—valued at over USD 90 billion. As the most industrialized and dynamic state, Selangor plays a central role in Malaysia’s growth, with strengths across manufacturing, logistics, digital services, and port infrastructure.
